Terms of Service
Last updated: 22 October 2026
Draft. To be reviewed by a solicitor before Stoic Planner is on the App Store.
These terms are an agreement between you and Merakigai LP, a limited partnership registered in Scotland (number SL037346), 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh EH2 4AN ("we"), about your use of Stoic Planner: the iPhone app, its widgets, and the service that backs up and syncs your plans. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
Your account
An account is optional. If you sign in with Apple or Google, keep access to that account secure; you're responsible for what happens in your Stoic Planner account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings.
Your content
What you write stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to store, sync and show it back to you on your devices.
Subscriptions
- Stoic Planner Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, yearly or monthly, bought through the App Store. The price and length are shown before you buy, and are charged to your Apple ID.
- A free trial, where offered, turns into a paid subscription when it ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before.
- A subscription renews automatically at the same price and length unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. If the price changes, Apple tells you first and, where the law requires, asks for your agreement.
- Manage or cancel it in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for.
- Payments and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms; ask for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. This doesn't affect any right you have under consumer law.
Acceptable use
- Don't try to access other people's accounts or data, or interfere with the service.
- Don't use automated means to overload the service.
- Don't copy, modify, or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
Availability
We work to keep Stoic Planner available and your data safe, and to fix problems with reasonable care and skill. Beyond that, the service is provided "as is", and we can't promise it will always be available or error-free.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for loss of business or profit, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and £50. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit, and nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Apple
If you got Stoic Planner from the App Store, these terms also include the following. They are between you and us, not Apple, and we, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies, you can tell Apple, which will refund the price you paid for it; to the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claims about the app, including product liability, failure to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection, and claims that the app infringes someone else's intellectual property. You confirm you're not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or on a US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the app must also follow the App Store's Usage Rules.
Ending
You can stop using Stoic Planner and delete your account at any time. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms. We may end the service with reasonable notice, and will give you a way to export your plans first.
Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before they take effect.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts can hear any dispute about them. If you're a consumer living elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of where you live, and you can bring proceedings in your local courts.
